Woodstock History Center (WHC) seeks additional individuals to serve on its Board of Trustees. We welcome individuals with experience in the nonprofit, education, philanthropy, museum or business sector. It is very important to the organization to host a board committed to maintaining and further developing our role as a vital and integral part of our community. Our focus is to serve the needs and interests of the population that lives in Woodstock. Individuals should have a commitment to WHC’s mission and implement our strategic plan. A board member should understand her or his fiduciary, ethical and fundraising responsibilities and advocate for the organization. Day-to-day operations are led by WHC’s Executive Director and staff. All Board members are encouraged to serve on a committee, to approve WHC’s annual budget and financial reports, and to review business decisions. Board members consider WHC their philanthropic priority and make annual “give or get” gifts that reflect that priority. WHC expects to have 100 percent of Board members make (or raise) an annual contribution as well as to maintain membership at the WHC. We hold nine board meetings per year plus the annual meeting of the membership as well as various committee meetings.
