Come learn about famous Revolutionary War hero Lafayette and his historic tour through Vermont. This program will feature two guest speakers - Alan Hoffman and Peter Reilly who will discuss the 19-year-old Marquis de Lafayette who travelled across an ocean to fight for America’s independence.
Nearly fifty years later, he returned to the United States as a guest, travelling approximately 6,000 miles in order to visit all twenty-four of the states that were part of the union at the time of his visit.
In addition to a lecture program, this event will feature a six-panel pop-up exhibit about Lafayette and his many contributions.
The program will be held in the Woodstock History Center’s Library. The pop-up exhibit will be held in the History Center’s Barn Gallery.
