On Wednesday, June 7, at 2 PM, author Cassie Horner will do a brief program, reading and book signing for her latest novel, Charles Jr: Road to Justice, at the Woodstock History Center.
The book is based on the real life story of Charles F. Presby, who fought for everything. He waged a lifelong struggle with his mother, his Civil War injury, his wives, his gambling addiction, and his land, culminating in a legal battle that went all the way to the Vermont Supreme Court. Through his life, Charles journeys from the isolation of a Vermont hill farm to the sweltering heat of the Louisiana Bayou and the hazards of the Civil War, only to return home to Vermont and find the fight of his life.
Books will be available for purchase and signing at the event.
